Meet Our Staff

My father, George Farmer, and I started our first venture into early childhood education in 2001. LeafSpring School at Sonterra has been operating in the Stone Oak area since 2003 and is accredited by both NAEYC and TX Rising Star (4 Star Certified). With the help of our extremely talented staff and loyal families, we have grown LeafSpring School San Antonio into the premier preschool in North San Antonio. LeafSpring School is the model to which the local colleges and universities refer their early childhood students for observations and internships.

My background as a special education teacher gives me insight into early childhood education and as both a teacher and a mother, it is my intention to provide quality care to other parents in San Antonio. With the addition of LeafSpring School at Cibolo Canyons Canyons, in 2013, we are able to provide an incredible education and school-age recreation program to even more families! I am so excited with success of both programs and the relationships we have created at both schools. On a personal level, I have three fantastic kids, Kyle (27), Kennedy (22)and Collin (20) who all grew up at LeafSpring School and I couldn’t be more proud of them and their accomplishments. I love to travel with my family, reading and relaxing with friends.

My name is Heather Mattingly and I have been with LeafSpring Schools for over 15 years.  I began as a Lead Teacher in Red Room and worked my way up to Site Director.  In February of 2013, my journey with LeafSpring School continued as I opened our new location on Marshall Road.  I have my degree in Early Childhood Education and have spent most of my life working with young children.  I enjoy the freedom of play and learning that is associated with the little ones.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 26 years and we have two children, ages 22 and 25, and three pound pups.  We moved from Wichita, KS to San Antonio over 16 years ago and have enjoyed every minute of it – well, except the heat.  I enjoy going to the movies and being creative, whether it be painting, crafts, sewing or cooking.

I was born and raised in a very small town in Ohio. I graduated from Ashland University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. After graduation, I married my college sweetheart and together we have two amazing boys. In June 2013, I started as a full-time floater for LeafSpring Sonterra. During my time teaching at LeafSpring, I have been a Lead Teacher in the Red Room, Yellow Room and Green Room. In January of 2021 I was promoted to Director of Training and now have the pleasure of welcoming new staff and training them to be the best teachers they can be.

Hi my name is Pricilla Perez. I was born and raised here in San Antonio and  began working at LeafSpring School in August of 2013. I started in the Infant room and worked my way through Red, Orange, Yellow and Gold room. I even spent a summer as the school age Camp Director. After years of happily playing and teaching LeafSpring students, I now have the pleasure of welcoming new generations to our school. I was promoted to Director of Enrollment in 2022 and I enjoy showing new families our program and our school. I have been with my husband for 14 years and married for 11 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters who have both attended LeafSpring School since they were infants! Working at LeafSpring has been such a joy and has become a big part of my family. For me, the best thing about being part of the LeafSpring family is getting to be a part of the little lives that will be our future!

My name is Claudia Lomas, and I was born and raised here in San Antonio. I have been with LeafSpring for a couple years now and I have found my happy place for both my family and me. I graduated from UTSA with my Master’s in Education in 2018, I then decided to leave my management position at Gold’s Gym and look for a place that I could share my ideas and feel part of a team. That is where I found LeafSpring and became the Director of Village Curriculum/Summer Camp. I have been working with kids for over 10 years and love every minute of it. I love seeing them change, grow, and become who they are meant to be as time goes on. I am happily married, and we have one awesome little kid who attends the preschool fulltime. For fun I like to travel, look for new adventures, stay fit and healthy, and just spend as much time with family as possible.

My name is Terry Alaniz, I was born and raised in Mission, Texas. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from UTSA in 2011. My journey with LeafSpring began in 2017 when I was hired as an Infant teacher. The time spent teaching and engaging with LeafSpring students has been invaluable! I was promoted to Director of Training in 2022 and now have the pleasure of welcoming new staff and training them to be the best teachers they can be. I enjoy traveling, reading, binge watching movies and television, as well as being a photographer. Being a part of the LeafSpring family has been such a remarkable experience and I look forward to continuing to help this school grow.
